OUR JOURNEY

Living Through the Renovation

Our story started in Benoni, South Africa, in our first home as newlyweds. It was the house where we welcomed our first child and where we learned, mostly by doing, how much a home can shape a life.

What began as making a house our own slowly became something bigger. Extensions, repairs, late nights, unfinished rooms and a growing belief that renovation is never just about walls.

It is about building the life you are trying to live inside them.

THE TRANSITION

From the Highveld to the Surrey Hills

In 2019, we made the decision to move. Then, the world changed. We spent lockdown putting our life in South Africa up for sale while tackling one last project: a new open-plan kitchen and living space.

We finally landed in the UK in December 2020 with two kids, the dog, and the cat. After outgrowing a tight mid-terrace rental, we went hunting for space and schools. We didn’t find “perfect,” but we found potential in a 1970s detached house in Surrey that had been frozen in time. We knew the moment we walked through the door that it would become our next chapter.
